As water is available universally and has great capacity of absorbing heat, it has been the most obvious choice for extinguishing fire. However, with new developments it has been found that if a suitable wetting agent is added to water, its fire extinguishing efficiency is increased exponentially. FIRECHEM Wetting agents are popular choice for adding into water since that possess foaming characteristics according to the NFPA-18 standards. These agents when added to air and H2O result in a foam that sustains unique characteristics of wetting and penetration, hence delivering an effective smothering action perfect for Class A as well as Class B combustibles. There is also possibility of providing good fluid insulation to protect against the fire exposure.

Properties of FIRECHEM Wetting Agents

• Application Rate: 3 parts of wetting agent to 100 parts of water

• Corrosive Properties: None

• pH Value: Between 6.5 to 8.5

• Surface Tension: This factor in water is reduced from 72 dynes/cm² to less than 33 dynes/cm². In addition, the agents provide optimum penetrating efficiency to water.

• Uses: Highly effective on Class A & B fires
